Kline, McGary named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

First time this season for the seniors
STORRS, Conn.—The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly volleyball award winners on Monday, Nov. 5th. Seniors Elizabeth Kline and Iman McGary garnered recognition on this week's honor roll, as the Huskies went 1-1 over the weekend and taking the season series against the USF Bulls on Nov 3rd.
Kline surpassed 1,000 career digs against the UCF Knights on Nov. 1st. During this weekend's rematch against the sunshine state's finest, she posted a season high in digs at 26 and ended the match without a reception error. Kline is riding a five-match double digit dig effort with double digit digs in 24-of-26 total matches this season. She has also had six different matches where she has had 20 digs or more. To conclude the weekend, Kline played a total of seven sets, six assists, 41 digs for 5.86 digs per set.
McGary rounded the weekend matches playing a total of seven sets, 27 kills, hitting .241, two assists, three service aces, 18 digs, three block assists, and 31.5 points. She posted a double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs against USF. Those 15 kills against USF tied, for the third time this season, her season high in kills. She also completed her third consecutive match with a service ace. On the season she has had nine different double digit kill matches in addition to four where she has posted double digit digs.
The Huskies are headed to the South, Tennessee and Louisiana, for their final pair of road games this season. UConn will take on Memphis Friday, Nov. 9th at 8:00 p.m. They will then head to New Orleans to face Tulane on Sunday, Nov. 11th at 2:00 p.m.
