David Drake Signs with Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL

STORRS, Conn. - UConn senior David Drake (Naperville, Ill.) signed an amateur tryout (ATO) contract with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, announced by the team on Tuesday.
Drake was a seventh-round selection (#192 overall) by Philadelphia in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
The senior defenseman recently concluded his four-year career in Storrs, playing in 124 career games for the Huskies. He totalled 25 career points on four goals and 21 assists and also had 177 career blocked shots. This past season, Drake posted a career-best eight assists and blocked a career-high 56 shots.
Drake will go down in the UConn record book as being the Husky who scored the program's first Hockey East goal in their first-ever conference game at Merrimack back on October 18, 2014.
The Phantoms, currently in first place in the AHL Atlantic Division, clinched a playoff berth in the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs and have eight games remaining in the regular season including a stop off in Hartford to face the Wolf Pack on April 7 at the XL Center.
