Huskies Look to Stay Hot at Georgetown

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's lacrosse team (7-7, 3-3 BIG EAST) sets its sights on Washington, D.C. as they gear up for a midweek clash with BIG EAST foe Georgetown.
A Win Would...
A win would give UConn their first winning record since they owned a 5-4 clip back on March 7. A win would also mark three straight for UConn who currently owns a 4-3 record on the road.
The Series
Wednesday's contest marks the 20th match-up between the two teams in the sport of women's lacrosse. UConn trails 17-2 in the all-time series but has won two of the last three meetings against the Hoyas.
Last Time Out
Grace Nolan attacked the record book in Friday's 20-8 rout of Cincinnati, totaling the most goals scored in a half (six), tied for the most goals in a game (eight) and tied for the most points in a game (11). With the performance, Nolan became the Huskies' all-time point's leader with 264 in her career. Nine different players posted goals in the contest to contribute to the win as the Huskies improved to10-0 all-time against the Bearcats.
Leading the Pack
Grace Nolan is pacing the Huskies in points (81), goals (54) and assists (27) while leading the conference with 5.79 points per game and 3.86 goals per game. The Marcellus, N.Y. native is third in the league in helpers posting 1.93, respectively. Classmate Cassie Ekstrom, is boasting a team-high 42 ground balls and a BIG EAST best 30 caused turnovers. In addition, freshman Sydney Watson is headlining the team with 64 draws.
Leaving Her Tracks
During her time in Storrs, senior Grace Nolan has established herself as one of the most prolific scorers in program history as she continues to rewrite the record book. Nolan currently sits atop the leaderboard with 264 career points and counting. Her 171 career goals and 96 career helpers each rank second all-time.
Earlier this season, Nolan broke a pair of program records notching 11 points against Cincinnati while scoring eight goals on two different occasions. Last season Nolan notched 77 points which ranks second in the UConn record book for points in a single season, while her 33 helpers marked the second highest in program history.
Quick on the Draw
Freshman Sydney Watson has been unstoppable in the circle this season. The freshman currently owns 64 draws to set a new single season program record. She has won a personal-best eight draw controls on three different occasions which is good for second overall on the single game records list.
Senior Kelsey Catalano set a new program record in draw controls when she won 11 against Fairfield on Feb. 14.
100 and Counting...
Head Coach Katie Woods reached a career milestone on Feb. 14 as she eclipsed the 100-win plateau with a 13-12 win against Fairfield. Woods, who has coached at UConn for eight years, set the program record for most wins by a head coach last season with 73. Woods captured 74 of her 100 wins as the leader of the Huskies and accumulated her first career 26 wins during her time at American (2007-2010).
Notables
Kelsey Catalano earned her first career BIG EAST Attacker of the Week honor on April 10 after tallying 12 goals and 13 points in two games for the Huskies. Grace Nolan was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (2/19) after totaling nine points off six goals and three assists in a 1-1 week for the Huskies. Freshman Sydney Watson garnered BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolades after a five-point (4g, 1a) performance against No. 7 Syracuse on Feb. 9.
