STORRS, Conn. - Senior attacker Grace Nolan sparked on the lacrosse field over the weekend, helping the UConn lacrosse team to a victory against Cincinnati and earning herself a nod as the BIG EAST Attacker of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
The Huskies rolled to a 20-8 rout of the Bearcats Friday at the Sherman Family complex behind an 11-point performance from Nolan.
This is Nolan's second major honor of the season, after being named the Attacker of the Week on March 20. Connecticut has now claimed the diction for a second consecutive week after senior Kelsey Catalano earned the accolade on April 10.
Nolan attacked the record book in Friday's win, totaling the most goals scored in a half (six), tied for the most goals in a game (eight) and tied for the most points in a game (11). With the performance, Nolan became the Huskies' all-time point's leader with 255 in her career and is five shy of the BIG EAST career mark, as she enters Wednesday's game with 129 in conference play. Nolan's points per game average (5.79) ranks third nationally.
UConn returns to action on Wednesday, April 18 when they head to Georgetown. The Huskies and the Hoyas will square-off at 3:00 p.m at Cooper Field.
