Trio of Huskies Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

STORRS, Conn. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) has named UConn as one of 339 schools across Division I, II III and NAIA as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2018 season, as announced on Monday afternoon.
In order to earn the distinction, schools are required to have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher. UConn was joined by fellow BIG EAST members Denver, Georgetown, Marquette, Quinnipiac, Temple, Cincinnati, Florida, Vanderbilt and Villanova.
In addition, seniors Cassie Ekstrom and Kiera Dalmass and junior Olivia Eigel were tabbed to the IWLCA's Division I Academic Honor Roll for the first time in their careers. The trio were joined by 463 student-athletes at 105 different institutions also recognized on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Ekstrom, a second team All-American graduated this past May with her degree in psychology, while Eigel continued her studies in Management Information Systems. Dalmass completed her undergraduate degree in Spanish, Statistics and Mathematics and will pursue her Master of Science degree in Statistics during her final season of lacrosse.
