Four Huskies Honored as AHCA All American Scholars

UConn's Karashik, Naas, Ojantakanen and Wight make this year's list
STORRS, Conn. - The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced their 2017-18 "Krampade All American Scholars" with four Huskies claiming a spot among the 488 Division I men and women highlighting this year's list.
Rising sophomore Adam Karashik (Ridgefield, Conn.) and recent graduates Spencer Naas (Minnetonka, Minn.), Kasperi Ojantakanen (Helsinki, Finland) and Jeff Wight (Coquitlam, British Columbia) were recognized for attaining a 3.60 GPA or better in each semester while participating in at least 40 percent of the Huskies' games this past season.
The foursome were also part of the 12 Huskies who were honored recently by being named to the Hockey East All-Academic team for this year. Naas, Ojantakanen and Wight were named "Distinguished Scholars" having earned a spot on the team for posting a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in each of semester of their four seasons at UConn.
The four Huskies join eight members of the UConn women's hockey team in earning a place on this year's AHCA All American Scholar team.
