Huskies Fall 4-1 to SMU

DALLAS - The UConn women's soccer team lost 4-1 at SMU on Sunday afternoon at Westcott Field to move to 2-9 overall and 0-2 in The American.
SMU got on the board first at the 12:10 mark in the first half on a goal from Allie Thornton, her sixth of the season. But just three minutes later, senior Elena Santos scored her second goal of the weekend to even the match, 1-1.
The game remained tied until the 26th minute when the Mustangs capitalized on Courney Sebazco's sixth goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winner.
The Mustangs put the game away with a pair of goals in the second half and moved to 7-2-1 on the season.
SMU out shot the Huskies 18-11 in the match. The Huskies are 0-6 on the road this season.
UConn returns home on Thursday, Sept. 27 against USF at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
