Sprecher Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

NEW YORK – Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher was tabbed the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after backlining the No. 3 UConn field hockey team (12-2) to a 2-0 week.
This is Sprecher's fourth BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
The Palmyra, Pa., native made 12 total saves in two wins last weekend. In a 3-0 victory over Providence, Sprecher made eight saves. In a 3-0 win over No. 10 Delaware, the goalkeeper made four saves.
Sprecher has eight shutouts so far this season. She holds an 0.79 goals-against average and a .861 save percentage.
The Huskies are back in action Friday at Villanova at 3 p.m.
