No. 3 Huskies to Face No. 17 Liberty Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The third-ranked UConn field hockey team (13-3, 5-0 BIG EAST) travels to No. 17 Liberty (9-4, 4-1) Saturday at noon.
BEASTS OF THE BIG EAST
UConn has won 37 straight BIG EAST regular season games, dating back to the 2013 season. The Huskies have won six straight BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles. UConn was picked as the preseason favorite to win the conference title again this season.
The Huskies have a chance to claim at least a share of the BIG EAST regular season title with a win.
SPRECHER LEADING IN GOAL
Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher has become one of the nation's top goalkeepers in just her second season on the field. Sprecher leads the nation with a .872 save percentage and is second with a 0.68 goals-against average. The Palmyra, Pa., native hasn't allowed a goal in the last four games.
IN THE RANKINGS
UConn holds at No. 3 in the latest NFHCA Coaches Poll. The No. 17 Flames are the 12th ranked opponent for the Huskies this season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies fell in a nail-biting shootout to No. 15 Syracuse, 1-0, last Sunday. UConn led in shots, 24-8, and in penalty corners, 13-1. Cheyenne Sprecher made five saves, including two in overtime.
TIEDTKE EARNS BIG EAST HONOR
Senior back Antonia Tiedtke was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Tiedtke led the third-ranked Huskies with one goal and two assists in the team's 7-0 win over Villanova last Friday. She inserted all of UConn's penalty corners in the game, which resulted in six of the Huskies' seven goals.
Defensively, Tiedtke helped keep Connecticut opponents to no goals and a combined 13 shots in field play as UConn went 1-1 with a shootout loss (1-0) to No. 15 Syracuse.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
Liberty beat Georgetown, 4-0, and fell to No. 1 North Carolina, 3-2, last weekend. Daniella Rhodes leads the Flames with 12 goals, seven assists and 31 points this season. Allison Schaefer has played every minute in goal and holds an 0.99 goals-against average and a .690 save percentage.
