Bethlehem, Penn. – The UConn women's cross country team competed in its second meet of the year, taking 24th out of 39 teams at the 46th annual Paul Short Invite on Saturday morning. Junior Mia Nahom was the top finisher for the Huskies at 36th out of 298 participants with a time of 20:40.
"It was definitely a solid rust buster and eye opening race. Mia got out and had a great race and ran 20:40 which is great for early in the season," said Head Coach Lindsay Cresvoiserat.
"Randi and Danielle made huge jumps in their times running mid-21's and we have a huge group running 22 flat. So, the goal for the rest of the season is to close the gap between our top groups."
Sophomore Randi Burr was UConn's second finisher with a time of 21:25. Fellow Sophomore Celia Chacko came in at 21:55. The Huskies top five was rounded out by Sophomore Kate Daley with a time of 22:03 and Freshman Caroline Webb who finished at 22:07.
