No. 2 FH: Final Four at Stake on Sunday

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 2 UConn field hockey team (19-3) battles for a spot in the NCAA Final Four against No. 9 Princeton (14-4) on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. at the Sherman Family Sports Complex.
Both teams have advanced to the National Semifinals twice since 2016 with the Huskies winning the 2017 National Championship.Â
HUSKIES COME BACK TO ADVANCE TO NCAA SECOND ROUND
• The No. 2 Huskies came back from a 1-0 fourth quarter deficit to defeat No. 25 Fairfield, 2-1, in overtime on Friday afternoon.
• Svea Boker tied the game with about 10 minutes remaining and freshman Sophie Hamilton secured the game-winning goal 50 seconds in the overtime period.
• Nancy Stevens earned her 700th win, the most in collegiate field hockey history
HUSKIES HOSTING NCAA FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS
• The No. 2 seed UConn Huskies are hosting for the 17th time in program history.
• This is the 31st time the Huskies have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament and its 18th-straight.
• The Huskies have reached 15 Final Fours and won five National Championships    including three in the last six seasons.
EIGHT IS GREAT
• The No. 1 seeded Huskies won their eighth-straight Big East Tournament title with a 2-0 victory against No. 2 seeded Old Dominion
• Svea Boker scored a pair of goals in the third quarter to earn Big East Most Outstanding Player recognition.
• Joining Boker on the All-Tournament team was Antonia Tiedtke, Maddy Wray, Cheyenne Sprecher and Sophie Hamilton.
UCONN-PRINCETON HISTORY
• UConn holds a 17-9 all-time record vs. the Tigers.Â
• The last matchup came earlier this season on September 22, 2019, a 2-1 Huskies win in overtime. Svea Boker scored the game-winner four minutes into overtime while Cheyenne Sprecher made eight saves in the win
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
• No. 9 Princeton exploded for five goals against No. 13 Syracuse to defeat the Orange 5-1 in the NCAA First Round.
• Tigers are on an 11-game win streak entering Sunday's matchup.
• Princeton has reached the Final Four in two of the last three seasons.
