Huskies Gear Up for Charleston Classic

STORRS, Conn. – UConn men's basketball team will play an early, in-season November tournament for the 15th consecutive season, making its first-ever appearance in the Charleston Classic, set for Nov. 21-24 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. UConn will meet Buffalo in the first round of the tournament, with tipoff set for approximately 9:15 p.m. and the game televised by ESPNU.

What to Know
- The Huskies (2-1) are coming off a 62-59 triumph over #15 Florida on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion.
- UConn is led in scoring (19.3) and rebounding (9.0) by senior Christian Vital. Junior Josh Carlton is second in both categories (13.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg), while junior Tyler Polley (12.7) and redshirt junior Alterique Gilbert (12.7) are also averaging double figures. Gilbert leads in assists (3.7).
- Buffalo (2-1) is coming off an 88-76 win over Harvard on Saturday. The Bulls have five double-figure scorers, led by junior Jayvon Graves (16.7).
- UConn has a 35-13 record (.729) against the rest of the field in the Charleston Classic. The breakdown includes: vs. Buffalo 7-1; vs. Xavier 1-0; vs. Towson 2-0; vs. Florida 4-1; vs. Miami 16-8, vs. Saint Joseph's 5-3; vs. Missouri State 0-0. UConn has already played Saint Joseph's and Florida this season.
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island, and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
