The NCAA Northeast Regional races were held just a week ago in Buffalo, New York. Nahom was the Huskies' top finisher, coming in fourth overall out of a field of 266 runners. She finished with a time of 19:33.7 to earn a spot in the national championship race.
Head Coach Lindsay Crevoiserat also qualified for the national race in her time as a cross country runner at UConn.
"It's definitely cool to see it come full circle," Crevoiserat. "I'm back and now one of my athletes has made it to nationals. It's just a big thing to do and it's not easy. It's probably one of the hardest sports to make it to nationals in."
"It's a big thing for the program, it's a big thing for me as a coach and for her. Watching her grow as an athlete, she always wants to be the best, so that's cool to see that she is one of the best."
