No. 3 Field Hockey Wraps Up Regular Season With Win on Senior Day, 5-1

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 3 UConn field hockey (16-3) team took care of business with a 5-1 win against UMass (10-9) on Senior Day from the George Sherman Family Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Seniors Svea Boker, Abby Lucas and Antonia Tiedke were honored prior to the match, a group that helped the team win its 2017 National Championship and have been a part of seven Big East Championships to this point.

It was the senior, Boker, that started the scoring for the Huskies in the first quarter. Boker converted on a penalty stroke at 4:56 to notch her team-leading 18th goal of the season.
Freshman Claire Vandewerth scored a pair of goals for the Huskies including a penalty stroke in the first quarter. It is the second multi-goal game of the season for Vandewerth (Liberty, 10/26).Â
Maddy Wray and Marie Auer added second quarter goals for UConn to complete the 16th victory of the season for the Huskies.
UConn turns its attention to the postseason with the Big East Championship getting underway on Friday, Nov. 8 at 11.am. The No. 1 seeded Huskies will face No. 4 seed Providence at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium in Hamden, Conn.
