UConn, Maine Set For Sunday Matinee

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's basketball team plays its first XL Center home game of the season, entertaining longtime New England opponent Maine. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tipoff and will be televised by SNY.

- UConn leads the all-time series 84-16
- The Huskies (4-2) are coming off a third-place finish in the Charleston (S.C.) Classic, with wins over Buffalo and Miami sandwiched around a one-point, double-overtime loss to nationally ranked Xavier.
- The Huskies have three double-figure scorers, led by senior Christian Vital (16.0), who also tops the team in rebounding (9.0) and steals (3.0). Freshman James Bouknight (13.3) and junior Josh Carlton (13.0) are also averaging in double figures, while junior Alterique Gilbert leads the Huskies in assists (4.0) and freshman Akok Akok is tops in blocked shots (3.2).
- Maine (2-4) is coming off a 46-26 loss at Virginia on Wednesday. The Black Bears are led in scoring by senior Andrew Fleming (18.2), with senior Sergio El Darwich (11.3) also in double figures. Junior Nedeljko Prijovic is the Bears' top rebounder (7.0) and El Darwich leads in assists (4.0).
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island, and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
