Huskies Fall at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The UConn women's tennis team are in Michigan this weekend and on Saturday morning took on the Michigan State Spartans. The Huskies picked up a singles win but fell to the Spartans 6-1 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
The Spartans took the opening doubles points and clinched the match with wins the top two singles spots. UConn freshman Julieanne Bou (New Braunfels, Texas) picked-up the Huskies lone win, earning a three-set victory at No. 3. Bou rebounded from losing the first set, 6-4, to Maja Pietrowicz by storming back with a 6-2 win in the second and a 10-7 win in the tiebreaker.
UConn senior Gillian Perrotta (Scarsdale, N.Y.) lost a tough three-set battle at No. 5, falling to Nicole Stephens. Perrotta lost a tough 7-5 first set and then battled back to win 6-4 in the second. In the tie-breaker, Perrotta came up short, falling 10-6.
The Huskies close out their trip on Sunday morning taking on Detroit Mercy.
