Gendron and Kalter Also Ink Pro Deals

STORRS, Conn. - UConn seniors Miles Gendron (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Max Kalter (Highland Park, Ill.) joined teammates Adam Huska (Zvolen, Slovakia) and Karl El-Mir in signing professional contracts this week. Gendron signed a contract for the 2019-20 season with the Belleville Senators, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Ottawa Senators. Kalter signed a deal to join the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL.
Gendron, the Huskies captain this season, simultaneously signed with the ECHL's Brampton Beast, also an affiliate of the Senators, for the remainder of the 2018-19 season. He was a third round pick of Ottawa the 2014 NHL Draft. Gendron just finished up his Husky career having played in 126 games, scoring 10 goals with 33 assists.
Kalter joins the Mavericks who are affiliated with the NHL's Calgary Flames and the AHL's Stockton Heat. Kalter ended his UConn career having played in 135 career games with 19 goals and 41 assists.
The duo make it 27 former Huskies currently playing professionally around the world.
