UConn focusing on final four games of 2019 regular season

STORRS, Conn.—The UConn softball team returns home to Burrill Family Field to wrap up the 2019 season with four games on their home field. The Huskies will host the Bobcats of Quinnipiac on Tuesday, April 30th in a nonconference single game before taking on the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa for the final American Athletic Conference series of the 2019 campaign.

UConn has positioned themselves well after sweeping ECU last weekend. The Huskies took yet another AAC series for their third of the season. They reached a mark that this team hadn't seen for quite some time, winning seven conference games. UConn enters this week riding a three game winning streak but knowing that their work isn't finished.
Kiwi McDaniel aided her team to victory and was named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll for her performance last weekend. As a unit, the Huskies posted 25 runs, 34 hits, three doubles, three home runs, 24 RBIs, 46 total bases, while batting .343. On the defensive side of the mound the team had 63 putouts, 20 assists, only one error, and fielded .988.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Quinnipiac (16-29, 7-9 MAAC) is coming off a 0-2 slate against Iona back on Sunday, April 28th. The Bobcats have a well-balanced roster under head coach Hillary Barrow with seven freshmen to learn from five seniors.
Tulsa (33-16, 14-4 AAC) recently took the season series from Wichita State on senior day in 3-1 fashion. The Golden Hurricane currently holds an NCAA rank of No. 25 and are second in the conference behind USF. Head coach John Bargfeldt's 2019 roster has six freshmen, three sophomores, four juniors, and five seniors. Sophomore Samantha Pochop garnered conference recognition for her efforts in the circle versus The Shockers.
