UConn Plays Bryant, Northeastern in Midweek

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn baseball returns to action this week with a pair of midweek games against Bryant and Northeastern. The Huskies travel to Bryant on Tuesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. and then return home to J.O. Christian Field to play Northeastern at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10.
The Huskies are 6-4-1 all-time against the Bulldogs with the two teams tying their last meeting in Storrs 9-9 in 10 innings last year due to darkness. The Huskies last trip to Bryant came in 2017 as the Huskies lost 9-3.
The Bulldogs are 20-10 overall this season with a 7-2 mark in the Northeast Conference. Bryant has won series against Virginia Tech and Elon and played No. 8 LSU tough despite being swept on the road.
UConn plays Northeastern for the second time this season after defeating the Huskies 7-4 in Conway, S.C. on March 1. Northeastern is 16-15 overall and 6-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The all-time series is 57-14-1 in favor of UConn.
Senior captain John Toppa enters the week with 197 career hits and is three hits shy of becoming the 20th Husky to record 200 hits in a career.
UConn resumes American Athletic Conference play next weekend with a three-game home series vs. Memphis at J.O. Christian Field.
