Hervol, Hull, Harrington Named To PING All-Region Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Recently graduated UConn seniors Jimmy Hervol and Nick Harrington and rising redshirt senior Drake Hull, the three lowest scorers on the 2018-19 UConn golf team, have each been named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team, announced Saturday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
It is the third consecutive PING All-Northeast Region selection for Hervol (Hopkinton, Mass.), the second for Hull (Rutland, Vt.) and the first for Harrington (Chaplin, Conn.). A total of 152 collegiate golfers from across the country, spread over six regions, earned PING All-Region honors from the GCAA. The UConn trio are three of just nine players from the American Athletic Conference so honored. The other six AAC players include John Barone and Trey Wren of Temple (Northeast Region), Bradley Bawden of Memphis (Southeast Region), Noah Goodwin and Mac Meissner of SMU (Central Region), and Austin Squires of Cincinnati (Midwest Region).
Hervol, who was named to the AAC All-Conference Team for the third time two weeks ago, set a UConn scoring record this season, averaging 70.89 per round. He earned a berth in the NCAA Championship Louisville Regional and tied for second, just one stroke shy of forcing a playoff for as berth in the NCAA Championship Finals. Hervol, named the AAC Player of the Week on April 10, had nine Top 10 Finishes this season, 22 rounds of par or better, and 10 sub-70 rounds.
Hull, named the AAC Player of the Week on April 17, was second on the Huskies in scoring, averaging 71.9 per round. He captured medalist honors at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, one of three Top 10 Finishes this season. He had 20 rounds of par or better and five sub-70 rounds.
Harrington had three Top 10 and six Top 20 finishes for the Huskies in 2018-19, including a season-best tie for fourth at the Loyola Intercollegiate. He had 15 rounds of par or better, including a low round of 65. That was one of five sub-70 rounds Harrington had this season.
