Three Huskies Drafted on Final Day of MLB Draft

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team had three more players drafted on the final day of the MLB Draft on Wednesday with left handed pitcher Mason Feole (11th Round), Mike Woodworth (29th) and CJ Dandeneau (37th) all selected.
Feole was picked by the San Diego Padres after a stellar three-year career. The Wakefield, R.I. native finished as the all-time leader in program history with 268 strikeouts.
The junior posted 19 wins ranking tied for seventh while eating up 260.1 innings to finish sixth. The All-American recorded a 3.25 ERA and held opponents to a .237 batting average against.
Mike Woodworth was selected by the Oakland Athletics after two superb years in Storrs. The Alameda, Calif. native racked up 143 hits, nine home runs and 90 runs scored. Woodworth landed on the All-Conference second team after hitting .325 with 10 doubles, three triples, five home runs and drove in 42.
Redshirt senior CJ Dandeneau, picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates, had his best season in Storrs in 2019. The right-hander pitched in 31 games and recorded a 2.52 ERA. In 50.0 innings out of the pen, Dandeneau tied a bullpen-high with 68 strikeouts and opponents hit .228 against him. For his career, the North Smithfield, R.I. native tied for second in program history with 87 appearances.
UConn finished with five players drafted, the most for the program since 2011 (10).Â
