Huskies, Scarlet Knights Play to 2-2 Draw

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The UConn men's soccer team took to the field for the first time in the 2019 season, battling Rutgers to a 2-2 draw Monday night at Yurcak Field.
The Huskies and Scarlet Knights played three periods – two 45-minute halves followed by an additional 10-minute session.
UConn tallied its first goal of the season late in the first intermission on a penalty kick. After getting tripped up inside the box, senior transfer Jordan Hall lobbed his shot past the Rutgers' keeper to even the score at 1-1 at 32:40.
The Huskies second score came midway through the third period, when freshman Moussa Wade rebounded a UConn miss and rifled a shot into the back of the net to knot the game at two goals apiece.
26 players saw game action for UConn in the first of two tune-up games before the regular season commences on Friday, August 30 vs. Rider.
UConn wraps up exhibition play Saturday, August 24 at 7 p.m.
