HARTFORD, Conn. – UConn men's soccer wrapped up preseason play with a strong performance, running away with a 3-1 victory over Boston University Saturday night at Al-Marzook Athletic Field.
All three tallies came in the UConn-dominated second half, with three different Huskies finding the back of the net.
Freshman Moussa Wade opened up the scoring for the Huskies early in the second period. Wade fed the ball to Jordan Hall – who was posted up just outside the box – and Hall sent back a touch pass leading to UConn's first strike of the evening at 53:03.
UConn continued applying pressure towards BU, finally breaking through for another goal with just under 10 minutes to go in the match. On the corner kick, transfer Ahdan Tait sent a ball towards the box and Robin Lapert headed it home to give the Huskies a 2-1 advantage at 80:20.
Ibrahima Diop put the finishing touches on the win with a fastbreak goal in the 83rd minute, taking a pass from Hall before beating the BU goalkeeper to put the Huskies ahead by two goals.
