Huskies Head to Ohio for Bobcat Invitational

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn volleyball team travels to Ohio University to compete in the Ohio Invite where they will face Virginia and host the Bobcats on Friday and cap off the weekend with a Saturday matchup against College of Charleston.

This Week's Matchups
The Huskies open the weekend against the Virginia Cavaliers (3-4), who finished 1-3 in last weekend's Rutgers Invitational. The Cavaliers defeated Princeton (3-1) before falling to Towson (3-1), Rutgers (3-1), and Liberty (3-0). The Ohio Bobcats (3-4) competed in the American Volleyball Classic last weekend where they fell to Temple (3-2) and defeated American (3-2) and Winthrop (3-2). UConn finishes the weekend against College of Charleston (0-5) who dropped games against Northern Colorado (2-3), Wyoming (3-0), and Buffalo (3-2) in last weekend's Uniwyo Invite.
Last Time Out
UConn defeated Iona 3-0 in its first game of the weekend in the UConn Challenge. Sophomore Caylee Parker recorded her first double double of the season with a match-high 18 kills and 14 digs. Fellow sophomore Courtney Morris helped the offense with 39 assists and six kills in 11 attempts.
The Huskies finished the weekend with a 2-1 record after a 3-1 win in their final game of the UConn Challenge against Central Connecticut. Caylee Parker's season-high 24 kills and 16 digs led the Huskies to victory in four sets. Parker also recorded her third straight double-double against the Blue Devils. Freshman Jasmine Davis finished the game with 15 digs and five blocks. Davis and Parker were also named to the all-tournament team.
Up Next
UConn returns home next weekend to host the Dog Pound Challenge. The Huskies will play three games in three days, opening the tournament against Holy Cross on Thursday, September 19th. The second game will be played Friday, September 20th against Dartmouth. Closing out the weekend on Saturday, September 21st the Huskies will face Providence.
