WSOC Beats BU 3-1 at DIllon Stadium

HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team rebounded from a tough loss on Thursday night with a 3-1 victory against Boston University on Sunday afternoon at Dillon Stadium.
The Huskies move to 3-0 at home this season and 3-2-1 overall. Duda Santin and Regan Schiappa both tallied theird first goals of the season.
The Terriers controlled the early possession and opportunities to begin the first half but UConn flipped the script a third of the way through the half.Â

Kess Elmore recieved a pass ahead from Melina Couzis and cashed in her third goal of the season to give UConn the 1-0 advantage at 19:33.Â
The Huskies really dialed up the pressure in the second half with a 14-3 shot differential in the final 45.Â
Santin scored at 56:08 to give the Huskies a bit of cushion at 2-0. The Huskies piled up chances with Yamilee Eveillard and Jessica Mazo nearly extending the lead but the scored remained 2-0.
UConn goalkeeper Randi Palacios made a key save on a suspect penalty kick in the 81st minute. The Terriers eventually broke through with a goal a minute later.
The Huskies responded in the right fashion, gaining back breathing room with a goal from Schiappa on a feed from Elmore.
Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky played in her first game of the 2019 season with 34 minutes on Sunday. Danyko-Kulchycky led the Huskies in scoring during the 2018 season.
UConn returns to Dillon Stadium next Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. against Harvard.
