Beantown Challenge Final Results
BOSTON, Mass. – The UConn women's track & field team placed second in a field of ten teams at the 2020 Beantown Challenge hosted by Harvard University on Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies collected a total of 98 points and grabbed the second place spot. The Crimson claimed victory with a total of 128.50 points and the Brown Bears rounded out the top three with 71.50 points on the afternoon.
UConn had top-five finishers in 11 of the 15 events scored, while junior Mia Nahom grabbed the Huskies' only event victory in the mile run.
"Today, we saw some of the things we need to get to work on," commented director of cross country and track & field Greg Roy.
"We don't have too much depth and to win a meet like this, we have to score multiple people in events. It's clear, we have a real solid group here and we have some work to do. But we are committed to getting there."
"Mia was great in the mile. Emma in the pole vault was very good. Patricia looked really good in the high jump in her first collegiate meet. In the 500 meters, Kristina ran a great race and Allie in the 1000 meters did a great job, really nice to see."
"Taylor did a great job in the long jump and showed why she is such a strong leader as a captain today," stated Roy. "And I can't forget Mikyla in the weight throw, who had one of the best PR's I have ever seen, topping her previous top throw by over 10 feet!"
