STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's basketball team faces a tough task as it looks to snap a two-game skid, traveling to Houston to meet the first-place Cougars at Fertitta Arena. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. tipoff and will be televised on ESPNU.

What to Know
- Houston leads the all-time series, 8-5.
- UConn (10-7 overall, 1-3 American) is coming off a 61-55 non-conference loss to Villanova at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday.
- The Huskies are led in scoring by senior Christian Vital (14.2), while junior Josh Carlton is also averaging double figures (10.0). Vital and Carlton are also tied for the team lead in rebounding (6.8).
- Redshirt junior Alterique Gilbert is tops in assists (4.8) and redshirt freshman Akok Akok leads in blocked shots (2.9). Houston (14-4, 4-1) is coming off a 65-54 road win at Wichita State on Saturday, its eighth win in its last nine games.
- Sophomore Quentin Grimes (12.8) and redshirt freshman Caleb Mills (12.6) are the leading scorers for the Cougars. Sophomore Nate Hinton leads the team in rebounding (9.7), while redshirt junior DeJon Jarreau hands out the most assists (3.4).
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
