GAMEDAY PROMOTION
Tom Emery, AKA Big Red has become a UConn legend throughout his time attending UConn Men's Basketball games. When we need it most, fans can look up to Big Red in the stands both in Hartford and Storrs to catch him leading us in the well-known U-C-O-N-N chant. The tradition began in the late 80's after Big Red felt that UConn spirit needed some extra support in leading their chants - it has been a part of Husky pride ever since.
In honor of Big Red, we will have exclusive Big Red t-shirts for the first 1,000 fans at Gampel Pavilion on Sunday as well as a display of photos on the videoboard that fans have taken with him through his near 50 years attending UConn Basketball games. During the first timeout of the game, Big Red will be on the court speaking to YOU, so be ready to partake in an honorary U-C-O-N-N and cheer on your UConn Huskies alongside with a legend.
