MBB Battles UCF in Midweek Contest

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's basketball team makes its final 2019-20 regular-season appearance at the XL Center in Hartford, playing host to UCF in an American Athletic Conference game. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff and will be televised on ESPNU.

What to Know
- UConn holds an 11-4 advantage in the all-time series between the schools despite dropping the three previous contests.
- UConn (15-12 overall, 6-8 American), winner of two of its last three and four of its last six, is coming off a 78-71 home victory over USF on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion.
- The Huskies are led in scoring (15.1), rebounding (6.4) and steals (2.4) by senior guard Christian Vital. Freshman James Bouknight is also scoring in double figures (12.7), while redshirt junior Alterique Gilbert leads in assists (3.8).
- UCF (14-12, 5-9), winners of three of its last five, is coming off a 75-74 home loss to Tulane on Saturday. The Knights are led in scoring by junior forward Collin Smith (12.5), while senior guard Dazon Ingram is the top rebounder (7.2) and also hands out the most assists (3.6).
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
