Jordan, Mroczkowski Take Bronze at AAC Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Danielle Jordan and freshman Patricia Mroczkowski both took bronze medals in their respective events at day two of the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Jordan placed third in the 3000 meter race while Mroczkowski took third in the high jump.
"The women really responded today, really competed well. We have some great athletes to build the program on," said director of track & field and cross country Greg Roy.
"Patricia [Mroczkowski] getting to the podium in the high jump is awesome. She was a different athlete today, a real competitive ferociousness. Danielle [Jordan] was on fire in the 3000, leading a ton of PRs in the distance races. And Mia [Nahom] finished off a tough double today and did a really nice job with some high level athletes."
Meet Highlights
On the track…
- Danielle Jordan won bronze in the 3000 meter race with a new personal best time of 9:34.62. Junior Mia Nahom finished fifth in the final event, coming in with a time of 9:35.72. Sophomores Randi Burr and Celia Chacko set new personal best times in the 3000 meter race with times of 9:47.34 and 9:55.17, respectively.
- In the Mile race, Nahom took fourth with a time of 4:52.34, five seconds faster than her prelim time. Junior Katelynn Romanchick finished sixth in the race with a time of 5:01.76.
- Sophomore Ayoola Gbolade finished seventh in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:15.79.
In the field…
- Patricia Mroczkowski won bronze in the women's high jump. The freshman cleared a height on 1.76 meters, a new personal best, and claimed her first medal as a Husky.
- Junior Kelly Ward finished seventh in the event, clearing a height of 1.67 meters, just short of a personal best.
- Sophomore Emma Chee continued her success this season with a fourth place finish in the pole vault. Chee cleared a height of 3.93 meters.
