MBB Set to Host Cincinnati in Sunday Matinee

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's basketball team finishes its home-and-home series against Cincinnati by playing host to the Bearcats at Gampel Pavilion. The game is scheduled for a noon tipoff and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

What to Know
- Cincinnati leads the all-time series 16-13. The Bearcats won the first matchup of the season (Jan. 1) 67-51.
- UConn (12-10 overall, 3-6 American) is coming off a 72-56 road victory at Tulsa on Thursday, avenging a home loss to Tulsa 11 days earlier.
- The Huskies are led in scoring (14.1), rebounding (6.5) and steals (2.4) by senior guard Christian Vital, while freshman James Bouknight is also averaging double figures (10.9). Redshirt junior Alterique Gilbert is the team leader in assists (4.4) and redshirt freshman Akok Akok is tops in blocked shots (2.86).
- Cincinnati (15-7, 8-2) is coming off an 80-79 road victory at Wichita State on Thursday, the Bearcats' fifth straight win. Senior Jarron Cumberland leads the team in scoring (15.5) and assists (4.3), while redshirt senior Tre Scott is the Bearcats' leading rebounder (9.4).
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
