22 Huskies Named to Women’s Hockey East All-Academic Team

STORRS, Conn. – Twenty-two members of the UConn women's hockey program were named to Hockey East's 2019-20 All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office this morning. Additionally, recent graduates Catherine Crawley and Morgan Fisher along with rising sophomore Coryn Tormala carved out spots on the All-Academic All Star Team while earning the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete after compiling perfect 4.0 GPA's for the season.
A record-setting 175 student-athletes were honored on the women's side, as each respective player achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher in each of the two academic periods in which she was actively competing.
In addition to Crawley, Fisher and Tormala, the UConn honorees consisted of Jessie Aney, Savannah Bouzide, Samantha Carpentier-Yelle, Briana Colangelo, Danielle Fox, Viki Harkness, Amy Landry, Mackenzie Nicholas, Danika Pasqua, Emily Reid, Leona Sim, Natalie Snodgrass, Ainsley Svetek, Tristyn Svetek, Kate Thurman, Morgan Wabick, Taylor Wabick, Camryn Wong, and Kaitlyn Yearwood.
Crawley and Reid garnered Distinguished Scholar status after earning a 3.0 GPA in each semester of four varsity seasons while Fisher, Morgan and Taylor Wabick each received their third honor. Bouzide, Carpentier-Yelle, Harkness, Danielle Fox, Natalie Snodgrass and Wong grabbed their spot on the All-Academic team for the second time, while Aney, Colangelo, Landry, Nicholas, Pasqua, Sim, the Svetek's, Thurman and Yearwood rounded out the group of Huskies as each garnered their first WHEA academic distinctions, respectively.
UConn and Holy Cross led all Hockey East teams with 22 players featured on the All-Academic Team. The full list of honorees can be found HERE.
