STORRS, Conn. – The Women's Hockey Commissioners Associations has announced that star UConn goaltender Tia Chan has been selected as the 2025-26 recipient of the Women's College Hockey Goalie of the Year Award. Chanbecomes the first netminder in program history to win the prestigious award.
This season, Chan led Hockey East in nearly every statistical category, as she was selected as the Hockey East Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive season. She led the conference in minutes played (2252:25), wins (27), shutouts (5), goals against average (1.55), and save percentage (.951).

The Hamilton, Ontario native was a First Team All-Hockey East selection and claimed back-to-back Hockey East Goaltender of the Year awards, leading the Huskies to their second-ever Hockey East Tournament championship, where she claimed MVP honors. She broke the Hockey East championship game record, making 57 saves in a 2-1 win in double overtime over Northeastern, securing the Huskies second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last three years.
In the NCAA Tournament, Chan helped the Huskies to their first-ever national tournament victory by making 41 saves in a 4-1 win over Princeton.
