STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's hockey standout goaltender Tia Chan has been named a First Team All-American, announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Saturday afternoon. Chan becomes the second player in program history to be named a First Team All-American (Dominique Thibault, 2007-08).
This season, Chan led all Hockey East goaltenders in nearly every statistical category, as she was selected as the Hockey East Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive season. She led the conference in minutes played (2252:25), wins (27), shutouts (5), goals against average (1.55), and save percentage (.951).
Chan's outstanding year in net saw her break multiple program single-season goaltending records, including saves (1,122), and wins (27). She turned in a .951 save percentage which ties the current program record, previously set by herself and Megan Warrener in 2023-24.
Nationally, Chan was second in wins, save percentage, and minutes played, third in saves, fourth in goals against average, and eighth in shutouts.
The Hamilton, Ontario native becomes the third Husky in program history to be selected as an All-American. She is the second goaltender to receive the prestigious honor, behind Elaine Chuli (Second Team, 2015-16).
