STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's hockey team will face the No. 1 nationally ranked Boston College Eagles in a Hockey East home-and-home series this weekend the league announced on Tuesday in their weekly schedule update.
The Huskies will travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Friday, January 22 for a 4 pm match-up with the Eagles and return home on Saturday, January 23 to host BC at 4 pm in the Freitas Ice Forum. Saturday's game will be televised live throughout Connecticut on the CW20 with Randy Brochu and Bob Crawford on the call.
UConn and Boston College met twice earlier this season, splitting a weekend series. The Eagles won a 4-3 decision in overtime at home back on December 11 with the Huskies answering with a 3-1 win at home on December 12.
Hockey East also announced today that previously released composite schedules for both the men's and women's leagues will be set aside and the remainder of the 2020-21 season will continue to be scheduled on a weekly basis. The decision decision is aimed at allowing the maximum amount of games to be scheduled for each member school, the Hockey East Association. The move comes with a stated goal to create as much variety and parity in the schedule as possible while adhering to all required health and safety protocols with a maximum of seven weeks remaining in the regular season.
