No. 3 UConn Hosts Georgetown Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The third-ranked UConn women's basketball team (9-0, 7-0 BIG EAST) plays its third game in five days as the Huskies host Georgetown (1-4, 1-4) Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will air on SNY and The River 105.9.
UConn posted a 67-61 win at No. 25 Tennessee Thursday. The Huskies trailed for three quarters before outscoring the Lady Vols 22-12 in the fourth quarter. Junior Evina Westbrook, a transfer from Tennessee, scored seven points in the final quarter. Junior Christyn Williams led UConn with 20 points while Westbrook finished with 15. Â In her second game as a starter, sophomore Aubrey Griffin scored 10 points.
With the win over Tennessee, head coach Geno Auriemma reached 1,100 career wins. He is one of just four men's or women's college coaches to reach the milestone, and he was the fastest coach to 1,100.
UConn is 45-6 all-time vs. Georgetown. The Huskies have won the last 28 meetings, dating bcak to 1993. This is the first meeting between the Huskies and Hoyas since UConn's first time in the BIG EAST. The last meeting between the teams was on Jan. 9, 2013.
Georgetown is coming off a 72-40 loss at Marquette on Wednesday. This season, Milan Bolden-Morris leads the Hoyas with 10.3 points per game. Head coach James Howard is in his fourth season at Georgetown.
