UConn Remains on the Road at Villanova, Georgetown

STORRS, Conn. – Remaining on the road to start October, The UConn women's volleyball team will venture to Villanova and Georgetown for another BIG EAST weekend series.
The Huskies will start with a 7 p.m. content against the Wildcats on Friday, Oct. 8, and close out their four-game road swing at Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m.
Senior Caylee Parker is coming off a 16-kill effort in UConn's (11-5, 3-1 BIG EAST) eighth sweep of the season at DePaul last Saturday. Parker ranks eighth in the conference in kills per set (3.07) and has averaged a .341 hitting percentage over the last three contests.
As a team, the Huskies rank second in the BIG EAST in hitting percentage (.249), opponent hitting percentage (.162) and service aces (1.77).
Senior Kennadie Jake-Turner has led the conference all season in hitting percentage, and currently boasts a .361 clip.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
Villanova is coming off its first BIG EAST win, a 3-0 decision vs. Butler last Saturday to move to 9-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Riley Homer ranks third in the conference in kills per set (3.73) and has notched double-digit kills in all but three games.
The Wildcats hold a 22-20 grip in the all-time series, and each squad split 3-1 outcomes this past spring.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown, who stands at 4-11 overall, is the only team in the BIG EAST without a conference win. Makayla Serrett is leading the BIG EAST in both blocks (22) and blocks per set (1.47).
Saturday will mark the first meeting between the Hoyas and Huskies since 2012, where UConn earned a pair of 3-1 victories to trim Georgetown's lead in the all-time series to one, 16-15.

UConn will return to Storrs for a four-game homestand, starting with a 5:30 p.m. matchup vs. Providence on Thursday, Oct. 14.
