Huskies Travel to Rochester for Weekend Series

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team (2-0) will head to Rochester, N.Y. to take on RIT for a weekend series. Games are scheduled for Friday, October 8th at 7:00pm and Saturday, October 9th at 2:00pm at the Gene Polisseni Center.
Last Time Out
UConn returns to action after a week off following an opening weekend sweep of LIU. The Huskies came away with 3-1 and 2-0 wins over the Sharks to begin the 2021-22 campaign. Goals from sophomore Kate Klassen, graduate student Summer-Rae Dobson, junior Amy Landry, graduate student Natalie Snodgrass, and junior Coryn Tormala secured the series sweep. Thirteen Huskies recorded at least a point in the season opening series.
Scouting the Tigers
RIT enters the weekend with an 0-5 mark to begin the season. The Tigers fell to Mercyhurst on opening weekend before dropping the next two series against Colgate and Union. RIT has scored nine goals this season and has given up 38 through five games. Lindsay Maloney leads the team with four points from two goals and two assists. Emma Roland leads the team in goals with three on the season.
Matchup History
This weekend will be the second and third times these teams will face off. The only previous meeting came in 2013, where RIT came out on top 4-3 in overtime at a neutral site game in Hamden, Connecticut.

UConn will face off against Maine on Friday, October 15th at 6:00pm in Orono, Maine before returning home to take on Merrimack on Sunday, October 17th at 3:00pm at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum.
