Field Hockey Signs Three to Class of 2026

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn field hockey team has announced the signing of three student-athletes to the Class of 2026. Julia Bressler (Leesport, Pa.), Maia Dechiario (Berwyn, Pa.) and Kianna Dawson (Upper Hutt, New Zealand) will all join the Huskies in 2022.
Bressler arrives in Storrs after lettering four seasons under head coach Vicki Schutt at Berks Catholic High School in Reading, Pa. The forward earned First Team All-State and All-County accolades while serving as team captain. She was the Most Valuable Player of her team and within the Division.
Dechiario played for head coach Katie Evans at Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, Pa. She spent her freshman year at Conestoga High School. As a defender, she was a two-time First Team All-State performer along with being a two-time First Team All-Maine Line and Daily Local News All-Area player. While earning Team MVP honors in 2020, she led her team to a District Championship.
Dawson comes to UConn from New Zealand where she played for the New Zealand U18 Development team. Played for Wellington U11, U13, U15 and U18 and competed with them in National Tournaments from 2014-19. She earned Most Valuable Player honors at St. Matthews College during the 2020 and '21 seasons while serving as team captain. Also competed in Beach and Indoor Handball.
