Huskies Compete in 2021 Junior World Cup

POTCHEFSTROOM, South Africa - The UConn field hockey team will be represented at the upcoming 2021 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup with three current or former players competing in Potchefstroom, South Africa from December 5Â to 16.
Sophie Hamilton (England), Lindsay Dickinson (USA) and Anna Horan (Ireland) are set to compete in the ninth edition of the bienniel women's under-21 field hockey world championship.
Hamilton took a gap year this season to train for the tournament and the 2021 NFHCA First Team All-American is expected to be back with the Huskies next season.
Dickinson just wrapped up her Huskies career by playing in 75+ games. Dickinson just competed with the United States squad in the 2021 Pan American games in late August.Â
Horan was just named to the Irish squad and competed with the Huskies in the spring of 2021 with two goals and one assist in 10 games.Â

The opening match of the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup South Africa 2021 sees Ireland taking on Zimbabwe in a Pool A encounter on 5 December. The competition final will be played on Thursday 16 December. To see the complete match schedule, click here.
