WHOC Hits Stretch Run Against Holy Cross

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team enters the final two weeks of the regular season sitting in seventh place in the Hockey East Power Index, a mathematical formula created by the conference to seed teams for the upcoming Hockey East Championship beginning on Wednesday, February 24.
The Huskies face Holy Cross for a home-and-home series this weekend beginning on Friday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. from the Freitas Ice Forum and close out the weekend with a road tilt in Worcester, Mass. against the Crusaders.
UConn (6-9-1) are coming off a 3-0 win against Maine last Friday in Storrs. Samantha Carpentier-Yelle earned the shutout with 29 saves in net. Natalie Snodgrass, Danika Pasqua and Jada Habisch each lit the lamp for the Huskies.
The Huskies are 6-2 all-time against Holy Cross and have won six-straight in the series. Last year, UConn won all three games by a combined score of 10-1.Â
Morgan Wabick and Coryn Tormala each scored a pair of goals in the season series.
The Hockey East Conference announced the dates for the women's Hockey East Championship with the First Round being played on Wednesday, Feb. 24 featuring the 7-10 seeds. The Quarterfinals is slated for Sunday, Feb. 28 with the semifinals and championship games falling on Wednesday, MarchÂ
3 and Saturday, March 6. All games will be played at the highest seed.
