WHOC Celebrates Three Seniors
2/18/2021 11:35:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
STORRS, Conn. - Unfortunately, the UConn women's hockey team is unable to honor its seniors this weekend because of a canceled Senior Night on Friday due to a positive Covid-19 case within Merrimack's program.
Savannah Bouzide, Shavonne Leacy and Emily Reid along with senior student workers Monica Hlinka and Peter Kasper have all given to and been great represenatives of the women's hockey program.
Our three seniors have made an impact both on the ice and in the classroom. The trio has accounted for 57 wins under head coach Chris MacKenzie, including 37 victories in Hockey East play.
During that stretch, the Huskies reached the Hockey East Championship twice, tied a program-high with 13 Hockey East wins in 2019-20 and set a program record with 12 road wins that season.
We would like to recognize our team managers Monika Hlinka and Peter Kasper for all that they do. Whether it is at practice or during games, we appreciate your hard work and dedication to UConn Women's Hockey. Thank you for being a part of this team and we wish you the best in wherever life takes you.
