Huskies Travel to Rhode Island for Midweek Contest

STORRS, Conn. – After being idle last weekend, the UConn softball team returns to the diamond for a midweek tilt against the Rhode Island Rams. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. at the URI Softball Complex.

Due to health and safety considerations amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the general population will not be allowed to attend Rhode Island athletic competitions at this time. A limited number of URI students will be permitted.
Last Time Out…
UConn (6-9) last competed in the Carolina Classic March 5-7, going 1-3 through four games. The Huskies split their pair of games with Elon but came up short against UNC and South Carolina. UConn closed out the weekend with it's first-ever matchup with Duke, dropping a 7-0 decision.
Scouting the Opponent…
Rhode Island (0-8) comes into Wednesday's matchup after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to James Madison on Sunday. JMU hit 12 home runs in the two run-rule games while URI was limited to one hit on the day... UConn leads the all-time series 47-16.
