CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – UConn rowing had a strong showing on the Charles River Sunday afternoon, with the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight boats posting a pair of second place finishes. The Huskies competed against Boston College and Holy Cross across three races.
"It was a beautiful morning of racing on the Charles River," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "With Saturday's races being cancelled due to the weather, it was good to have this opportunity today."

The Husky V8 crew's time of 7:39.200 edged out Holy Cross (7:40.300) to lockdown second place, with BC taking the win (7:15.000).
UConn concluded the regatta with a third place finish in the Third Varsity Eight with a mark of 8:19.768.
"Each boat that competed saw a lot of improvements in different parts of their week which a result of getting some productive strokes in over spring break," Sanford added. "We are looking forward to continuing to improve in practice this week as we prepare to race Bucknell."
