UConn Competes at Bucknell Saturday Morning

SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. – The UConn women's rowing team competed in its fourth regatta of the 2021 campaign, racing at Bucknell Saturday morning on the Susquehanna River. The Huskies had four boats going up against the Bison: the First, Second, and Third Varsity Eight in addition to the Varsity Four.

"We'd like to thank Coach Kish and his team for providing us with a very positive racing experience at Bucknell today," said associate head coach Allyson Zoppa. "We saw strong improvements in the segments of our race plan that we have focused on during recent training."

The Varsity Eight notched the fastest finishing time for the Huskies at 6:35.37. The Second Varsity Eight finished with a time of 6:47.18. In the third race of the morning, the Varsity Four crossed the finish line with a time of 7:32.25 and the Third Varsity Eight concluded the competition with a 7:16:03 finish.

"We are looking forward to a promising weather forecast at home this week," Zoppa added. "We will continue to build our speed with more time on the water."

UConn is off to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. next weekend for a regatta at Marist College.
