Brooklyn Wiedenheft Signs with UConn Volleyball

STORRS, Conn. – UConn volleyball head coach Ellen Herman-Kimball announced the addition of Brooklyn Wiedenheft to the Class of 2025 Wednesday.
"We are thrilled to add Brooklyn to the UConn volleyball program," Herman-Kimball said. "We are eager to add her enthusiasm, her contagious personality, along with her driven mindset to team. She is an extremely intelligent young woman and her versatility in setter position and defensive specialist role is exciting to add more competitive depth to our roster."
A native of Henderson, Nev., Wiedenheft is a 5-foot-6 setter/defensive specialist. She joins middle blocker Carly Furlong as the Huskies' 2021 freshmen.
Wiedenheft made the varsity volleyball team as a freshman and was named captain. She played club for Vegas United Volleyball and was named the 2017 Offensive Player of the Year.
In beach volleyball, Wiedenheft competed in the Junior National Olympics.
Wiedenheft will graduate as an honors student in the top 15 percent of her class.
Wiedenheft intends to major in biology at UConn. She is the daughter of Darius Brown and Heather Wiedenheft and has one younger sister, Kendra Rubalcaba.
