STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (19-14) beat Bucknell, 9-1, on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
The Huskies tied a season-high with four long balls including a pair off the bat of Pat Winkel. It was the second multi-homer game of the season for the UConn catcher.
Pat's older brother, Chris, his his eighth home run of the year in the fourth. The eight round trippers is a career-high for the fifth year senior.
Ben Maycock smoked his first home run of the year, a two-run shot, to cap a four-run second inning.
RHP Ben Casparius was dominant on the mound with seven strong innings of work that featured 14 strikeouts and just two hits allowed. The Westport, Conn. native did not allow a hit until the seventh inning.
Chris Brown returned to the lineup for the first time since the Georgetown series and immediately extended his hitting streak to eight games with a two-run single in the second.
UConn closes out the mini two-game series against the Bison on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. on WCCT-20.Â
