STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (20-14) swept a mini two-game series against Bucknell with a 13-6 victory on Sunday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
With some sloppy play early, the Huskies fell behind 4-1 but responded with a four-run bottom of the third inning.
Reggie Crawford delivered his second RBI double of the game while Christian Fedko added an RBI single.Â
The game changed in the top of the fifth inning when the Bison looked like they were about to tie the game on a double off the left field fence but left fielder Erik Stock relayed to Chris Brown who threw a dart to the plate to allow Pat Winkel to apply the tag.
The Huskies scored seven unanswered runs from that point forward including a six-run sixth inning to blow the game open.
Brown had a three-hit day that extended his hitting streak to nine games. The UConn third baseman was a home run shy of the cycle.
Kevin Ferrer, Chris Winkel, Brown, Crawford and Christian Fedko all recorded multi-hit performances.
On the mound, Randy Polonia, Andrew Marrero and Reggie Crawford each fired a scoreless inning of relief.
Kenny Haus recorded his second victory of the year with 2.0 innings out of the UConn bullpen.
The Huskies head on the road for BIG EAST play at St. John's next weekend in Queens.
