Huskies Up to No. 21 in USTFCCCA National Poll

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's cross country team moved up two spots to No. 21 in the week one USTFCCCAย National Coaches' Poll released this week.ย The Huskies also held on to the No. 1 spot in the Northeast Regional Poll in the first week, after being named the preseason top team.
The Huskies are coming of consecutive team wins in their first two races of the season.ย In their first outing, UConn won the Marist Invitational, finishing first in a seven team race with 31 total points.ย UConn, who had a limited roster to open the season,ย had their five best finishers all inside the top-10 to lead the way.ย The Huskies came back last weekend and too home the top-spot in the Ken O'Brien Minutemen Invitational at UMass.ย With their whole roster running, the Huskiesย won with a total of 29 pointsย in the six-team field.ย ย UConn had their five top runners all finish inside the top-10 while their entire seven athlete line-up was in the top-15 in the 6K race.
UConn came in at No. 23 in the USTFCCCA Preseason Coaches' National Poll.ย The Huskies will next be in action on Friday, September 24 when they run in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston College.
