UConn Set for BU Battle in Beantown

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's and women's track & field teams are headed to Boston University on Saturday for the Battle in Beantown Invite at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Saturday's meet is unscored meet and features host BU along with the Huskies, Albany, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Rutgers and UMass Lowell.
Last week's performance at the URI Invite was highlighted by another Emma Chee (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) win and the season debut of fellow team captain Mikyla Rodgers (South Huntington, N.Y.) who got a win in the weight throw.
Chee, who broke her own school record in the pole vault in the season opening meet at Harvard, currently ranks 23rd among NCAA leaders. Rodgers got her second career win in the weight throw and her first event of the season puts her 45th in the national rankings.
Another Husky got a win last week in freshman Danielle Phillip (Valley Stream, N.Y.) who took the 60-meter dash. Also in the NCAA rankings heading into the weekend are captain Taylor Woods (Marlboro, Md.) who is 6th in long jump (6.26m) and junior Patricia Mroczkowski (Berlin, Conn.) who's win at Harvard the season's first meet (1.78m) has her ranked 13th in the high jump.
Following this weekend's event, the Huskies will take part in the Great Dane Classic and John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU next weekend.
